Since last Saturday, 130 people have had to be evacuated from the peak
Almost thirty people have been located this Monday at the top of the Teide Cable Car –which is inoperative– and 112 Canarias has activated the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) to coordinate the rescue of three of them with symptoms of hypothermia, sources from 112 and the Cabildo of Tenerife reported to Europe
The rescued people will be taken to the helipad of La Guancha, where an ambulance from the SUC will transfer them to a health centre, while the rest have begun the descent by their own means from the peak through Montaña Blanca with the support of Red Cross and Firefighters.
The Cabildo points out that the conditions at the top of Teide are very cold and somewhat icy, weather conditions in which the cable car cannot operate, and with this rescue, since last Saturday some 130 people have already had to be evacuated from the peak.
