The Kiss Media group are developing Imagine Green Studios in Adeje, with 19 film sets equipped with

Adeje will be home to one of the largest audio-visual complexes in Europe - Imagine Green Studios (IGS). The project, promoted by the Kiss Media Group, promises to be a unique hub of its kind, both for its size and its operational capacity.

This week the Tenerife Cabildo approved the project with a majority vote, declaring it a ‘project of insular importance’. This decision is in line with the economic and social development strategy of the island, with the understanding that it contributes to diversify the economy and promote new productive sectors, such as the audio-visual sector, recognised as of strategic importance both by the regional government and the Tenerife Cabildo.

José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, acting mayor of the Adeje, commented that "it is great news for the Canary Islands, for Tenerife and of course for Adeje, to be able to have an infrastructure that will generate well-being and wealth. We are looking at a project that will bring diversity to the economy, which is one of the issues that is very important to this zone, and that opens up a world with many possibilities for direct and indirect employment. Additionally there will be a training centre incorporated into the project”

This development serves to “consolidate our position globally: we are a top level tourist destination and opting for this type of activity also reinforces our brand" explained Rodríguez Fraga. The mayor has confirmed that "this project has all environmental, economic, social guarantees under examination."  In addition, the acting mayor added that "the land on which the project will be developed has been unused in the last four decades, so productivity is returned to a space, with a modern project which will see the incorporation of the facilities of a modern film lot”.

Following the approval by the Cabildo, the Imagine Green Studios project will be submitted to environmental assessment by the Environmental Assessment Commission of Tenerife (CEAT), while the processing begins to verify that it complies with the legal and technical requirements established by the insular institution and the other public administrations involved.

The support of the regional government and the Tenerife Cabildo has been fundamental for the Kiss Media Group in the execution of this ambitious project. The Kiss Media Group, one of the main communication conglomerates in Spain with a national presence, has more than 20 years of experience in the audio-visual sector, owns several radio stations, audio-visual production companies and maintains a close relationship with the multinational Warner Bros Discovery.

Imagine Green Studios

Imagine Green Studios will have state-of-the-art facilities spread over 400,000 square meters. Among the available spaces will be 19 sets equipped with state-of-the-art services and technology to meet all filming and production needs. In addition, workshops will be established for complex scenarios and post-production rooms with state-of-the-art technology for image and sound editing.

Sustainability and environmental integration are also key elements in this project. The energy supply to the complex will depend 100% on renewable energy sources, and work will be continuously done on innovation and resilience. The region has a landscape variety that offers a wide catalogue of natural settings for filming, as well as attractive tax benefits for high-budget productions, thanks to its status as an outermost region of Europe. The tourist infrastructure of the islands is also a plus in offering accommodation for crews and casts during filming and production.

The installation of Imagine Green Studios in the Canary Islands will generate direct and indirect employment from its initial phase of development and construction. The hub will become a permanent source of employment for the archipelago. One of the key aspects to achieve excellence in this field is the training of specialised personnel. For this reason, IGS plans to establish a line of professional training with continuous workshops, tutorials and practical assignments in their studios.  Imagine Green Studios will compete in the international film market with cities such as London, Rome or Berlin, where filming and production for most of the blockbusters outside Hollywood is concentrated. In addition, it is expected to attract large European projects.
